Through years of research and development, our mix designs have been tested and modified into the products we offer today. We are not a supplier. Instead, we work closely with our clients through trial and license agreements.
Our Story
For many years, Chris Calvin and Matt Boehler had seen the negative environmental impact of concrete production. And it is significant. Cement production is one of the largest sources of carbon dioxide emissions, contributing about 8% of global emissions. In addition, the energy required to mine, crush and heat the raw materials, as well as to mix and transport concrete is considerable.
It triggered a keen desire in them to develop green concrete materials and mix designs that would be better for the environment. In 2015, in a garage in Toronto, Canada, they struck upon the right mix that would propel them to establish Lightweight Concrete Solutions. They are pioneers in the industry and inventors of a revolutionary high-performance lightweight Concrete and Shotcrete technology, including SCC mixes and Grouts.

In 2021, Chris and Matt developed a new line of ultra-high-performance lightweights in conjunction with Cor-Tuf UHPC. Their blended technologies have created the world’s first UHPC Lightweights with a compressive strength that easily exceeds 120MPa, a minimum weight reduction of 20%, and a reduction in CO2 emissions by a minimum of 15%.

Today, LCS collaborates closely with clients, assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of custom mix designs tailored to meeting specific project requirements.
